Why did you come to work at DC Energy?
The excitement regarding the markets we are involved in and the growth and potential of the firm is something I noticed on my office visit and wanted to be a part of.

What is a day like for you?
No two afternoons are ever alike; not only am I already responsible for managing a trading module and making significant financial decisions, I am also given the freedom to explore new ideas and the opportunity to regularly communicate with management about my work.

What is your favorite part of your job?
In very few jobs can you see the results of your decisions as clearly and quickly as you can through trading and that is what keeps me curious and motivated to learn.

What do you do outside of work?
The Washington DC area is a spectacular place to live as a young professional with endless possibilities of activities to enjoy. I personally enjoy going to wine tastings, farmer’s markets, and sporting events in the area. The convenient location and transportation options in the area have allowed me to attend the Foxfield races in Charlottesville, a wedding in Memphis and a weekend trip to a cabin in the mountains with friends with very little hassle.

What have you learned at DCE that you were surprised to learn but are glad you did?
The cooperative team environment at DC Energy has taught me the importance of a diversity of opinions and backgrounds when solving complex problems. One of the benefits of having employees from a variety of majors and interests is that we are able to look at problems from various view points and collectively create solutions that none of us would have achieved individually.
